We have been trying for more than a year to migrate the all the user accounts and the content from the old version of the Other Minds magazine website on Zope Plone 2.5 to Zope Plone 3.x. After talking to their developers, IRC chat rooms, and wasting hundreds of man hours, we are forced to just bite the bullet and manually migrate. Unfortunately this means everyone will have to re-register their accounts on the new site. You may access the old site and the old site content through http://old.omzine.org until we are done moving all the content to the new site. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition.

The DNS changes have been put in place, and the old site, that has been getting more and more crippled and slow, but has all the content, will now be accessible via the URL http://old.omzine.org

The new site during the transition is http://new.omzine.org, but all variants should begin pointing to the new site, and should be complete in the DNS change around the world in the next 3-7 days.

The new site currently (temporarily) has a green color theme, whereas the old site is dark blue header theme.

The new site has much newer software and a lot more features possible, and is MUCH faster and bug free.

We are keeping all the old site content available for now, while we manually migrate all the content by hand from the old site to the new one.

Once all the content is moved, we will decommission the old site (which will speed up the new site even more).

We are sorry that everyone will have to recreate their accounts. If you were an editor, reviewer, or content contributor who had special permissions setup previously, please email us at othermindsmagazine at gmail dot com AFTER you have created you new account on the new website, and we will re-setup your permissions.

ALSO, ATTENTION ALL MICROSOFT EMAIL USERS (HOTMAIL, LIVE, BING, ETC.) YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REGISTER OR EMAIL US OR USE ANY OF THE PARTS OF THE SITE THAT REQUIRE YOU RECEIVING AN EMAIL. MICROSOFT REFUSES TO RESPOND TO OUR QUERIES AS TO WHY THEY ARE BLOCKING EMAILS, AND WE HAVE GONE THROUGH ALL THEIR FORMS REPEATEDLY.  SO YOU MUST USE AN EMAIL ACCOUNT THAT IS _NOT_ MICROSOFT BASED. Please contact and complain to Microsoft for refusing to respond to us. They state that they only generally respond to blocking issues from large upstream providers, and since we are small, and hosted by a small provider, they continue to ignore us.

Anyhow, after all the dust settles form the transition, everyone should find the new site much more useful, better performing, and good to go for many more years. The previous site ran on the same software for over 3 years.
